Despite a 4% annual increase in the number of official vacancies in the three months to June, the number of original job ads in the sector’s key skills arena in the final month of the period was 28% lower than the number posted a year earlier. Eight thousand of the fifty thousand fall in original ad numbers was from fewer ads placed directly by hirers, meaning that the majority (42k) of the fall-off was in ads placed by agencies. Occupations with noteworthy reductions in the numbers of original ads included IT Security (-37%) and Technical Architecture (-35%).
